Victor Villarreal

Victor Villarreal is perhaps best known as the mastermind guitarist behind Cap'n Jazz - a band which has, in no small way, helped shape the evolution of indie rock. A Chicago native, Victor's high school band has influenced a shit-ton of bands, and channeled fist-pumping energy into just about every angsty emo/punk kid for the last decade. Post-Cap'n Jazz, Victor has played in amazing bands like Owls, Ghosts & Vodka, and most recently, Joan of Arc.
Victor Villarreal is widely considered to be one of the most inventive and cutting-edge guitarists of modern indie rock. His unique guitar style includes elements of classical, spanish, indie and even metal. Victor is in a world all his own. And unless a cantaloupe is involved, he is probably unaware of it. That is to say: Victor's intentions are ingenuous, and his art is pure.

dieser junge herr aus Florida begeistert nicht in maßen, sondern die massen, er ist hans dampf in allen gassen. er könnte der ein oder dem anderen bekannt sein als suport der indie-pop größen Tegan and Sara mit denen er durch australien und europa getourt ist oder eben als coolen rapper aus der indie-neighbourhood. Sein neustes auf Fake Four erschienenes album "This Is Our Science" stieg auf platz 10 der itunes charts, top 50 der billboard hip hop charts und ganz vielen anderen charts ein. so noch einmal das wort "charts" benutzen und schwupps ist diese konzertbeschreibung in den konzertbeschreibungen charts mit den meisten nennungen des wortes "charts".
was ich eigentlich sagen will; kommen und staunen, denn wer weiß wie oft man ihn noch in kleinen läden wie der oetinger villa sehen kann, die er nach drei besuchen hier in Darmstadt sogar in einem seiner songs des neuen albums verewigt hat. (das musste ich jetzt unbedingt noch erwähnen) :)

Bleubirds sarkastisch humoristsiche, aber doch ab und zu zynischen raps und seine energetische performance (man ist das jetzt alles dick aufgetragen) werden jeden davon überzeugen wie das the bird the word ist, yo!
